Donovan McNabb

Donovan McNabb has been traded to the Redskins on Sunday night. This move has surprised many people that never thought McNabb would be sent to their archrival, the Washington Redskins. The Eagles will be receiving a second round draft pick during this month’s upcoming NFL draft and potentially a third or fourth round pick for next year’s draft. McNabb will be trading in the green and white for the burgundy and gold. The 12-year veteran will now have to face his former team twice since he was traded within the division. This would have been McNabb’s final year of contract and no information has been provided whether or not he will be a negotiating an extension with Washington. He is expected to receive $5 million for the 2010 season. In addition tothe Washington Redskins, the Oakland Raiders also put a bid in. Even though it may be surprising the idea of Donovan McNabb traded to Redskins, many did not find this very surprising as Philadelphia has made it clear since March that they were looking to unload the veteran quarterback.
