Gordon Brown,has denied allowing his staff to brief against Alistair Darling, after the chancellor claimed the "forces of hell" were unleashed on him from the prime minister's office when he issued a stern warning about the recession in 2008.
Gordon Brown: Responding to a damaging interview last night in which Darling accused No 10 spin doctors of turning on him, Brown said this morning: "I would never instruct anybody to do anything other than support my chancellor."
Asked on GMTV about the "forces of hell" allegation, Brown said: "I was never part of anything to do with this."
