NIT Championship 2010 Update

The NIT championship 2010 is scheduled to resume play on Thursday as North Carolina takes on Dayton for the final game. This may not be the tournament North Carolina wanted to be a part in but after their disappointing season they were unable to get to the NCAA tournament. If North Carolina is able to win their game, this will be the first time a team has won an NCAA title and obtain the NIT title the very next year. North Carolina can attribute its recent success due to the hard work they have done on their defense.he NIT championship 2010 will be played at Madison Square Gardens. For the University of Dayton, this could end their season of quite a high note. This is the first time that they have a chance to win the title since 1968. They made it to the finals by beating Ole Miss with a score of 68-63. Both North Carolina and Dayton had hoped that they would be playing in the NCAA tournament, but either team would be happy to win this crown. This year’s tournament had a tougher field and was filled with many of the bubble teams hoping for an NCAA bid. This made the 2010 NIT Tournament exciting as the teams were trying to make it into the final NIT championship game.
The NIT Championship 2010 game will be broadcast on ESPN beginning at 7 pm ET on Thursday evening. The NCAA tournament resumes on Saturday as the Final Four continue to play. The match ups will include West Virginia taking on Duke and Michigan State playing Butler. The winners of these games will move to the final NCAA championship game that will be held on April 5
